Veronica Maldonado joined SUHI in 2023 as a bilingual Behavioral Health Community Health Worker II. In her current role, Veronica works with patients who have behavioral health needs, providing emotional support and connecting them to resources.
Veronica has 20 years of experience as a patient liaison and Medicaid specialist and has worked at various hospital systems including RUSH University Medical Center and John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County. She also worked at American Indian Health Services of Chicago as a benefit specialist coordinator and supervisor. Veronica is a lifelong Chicagoan, strongly rooted in the Southwest Side of Chicago, born and raised in Pilsen. She enjoys assisting people and lending a helping hand by conducting outreach and educating the public, providing opportunities for individuals and communities to improve their health. |
