Maria Guadalupe “Lupe” joined SUHI in 2019 as a bilingual Community Health Worker for Health and Healing for Life: Preventing Cancer and Promoting Early Detection through Screenings and Education, a navigation and support for breast health, cervical and colorectal health services. In addition, Lupe is currently a part of the CHW Assisting Resources in Mammography program.
Prior to joining SUHI, Lupe worked as a screening, assessment and support services clinician for Under the Rainbow at Mt. Sinai Hospital for 25 years. In the role, Lupe provided crisis assessments and case management for children and adolescents living in the Pilsen-Little Village area, working with schools, community agencies, and psychiatric hospitals, and conducting home visits. |
