Professional Summary

Lesley Ukaegbu joined SUHI in 2024 as Manager of Business & Operations. Lesley provides administrative management and leadership support for the Health Equity Research and Evaluation team. Her responsibilities center on overseeing day-to-day operations and business activities, which include managing grants post-award, monitoring budgets, contract writing, program reporting, protocol development, human resource management, and marketing.

Lesley has a distinct background in international development, quality assurance, behavior analysis, health operations, and professional development. Prior to joining SUHI, she operated within the health sector through both a global and domestic health lens, thus garnering specialized expertise in health systems strengthening, process improvement, data analysis, people operations, and project management, encompassing areas that include financial and strategic planning, program coordination, risk assessment, compliance, and procurement.

Having grown up in a first-generation immigrant household, Lesley understands the complexities of the systems that impede health outcomes for marginalized communities. She holds strongly to the belief that every individual deserves dignity, respect, kindness, and a right to health. As such, she is committed to the pursuit of health equity through the effective utilization of data to tactically address racial and ethnic inequities, access to quality and affordable care, and other social determinants of health.
