ESPERANZA GARCÍA

Professional Summary

Esperanza García joined SUHI in 2021 and currently serves as a Program Manager on the Health Equity Research Evaluation team. Esperanza leads community health projects with a focus on maternal, child, and adolescent health. Her work spans qualitative research, health education, and program management. She has many years of experience working with and engaging with community members to foster relationships and improve the health and well-being of Chicagoans.

A Chicago native raised on the city’s Southwest Side, Esperanza has witnessed firsthand the lasting impacts of health inequities on communities of color. Her commitment to public health, health equity, and social justice drives her continued efforts to improve the health and access to equitable, culturally-responsive care for Chicagoans.
