Annely Guerrero joined SUHI in 2021 as a Bilingual Community Health Worker (CHW) II with a focus on asthma and was promoted to a CHW III in 2024. In addition to working on the Chicago Coordinated Asthma Project, Annely is a Bilingual Lifestyle Coach for the Diabetes Prevention Program. To supplement her knowledge and practical skills in and out of work, she earned a basic certificate in the Community Health Care Worker program through City Colleges of Chicago.
Annely brings a range of experience in various fields including canvassing for Southwest Organizing Project, working as a student nurse for Chicago Public School’s LPN nursing program and being a student advocate at schools in Little Village via Chicago GEAR UP Alliance. Her time spent with youth inspired her to switch gears to a career in public health. Annely has always been passionate about helping others and raising people’s consciousness on different social and political issues. |
