Community Health Worker III

ALYCE ROBERSON

Professional Summary

Alyce Roberson joined SUHI in 2020 as a Community Health Worker (CHW) II and was promoted to a CHW III in 2023.  Currently she works on the CHWs Assisting Patients program and is a member of the One Lawndale Community Health Collective, which amplifies the work of CHWs providing services in North and South Lawndale. She also contributes to SUHI’s initiative to embed CHWs in Mount Sinai Hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Department, aimed at addressing the needs of pregnant and postpartum patients.

Prior to SUHI, Alyce worked as a direct support professional and pharmacy technician. Both roles enabled her to better understand the needs of others and enhance her empathy and compassion when working with individuals from various backgrounds. They also helped her develop a passion to be an advocate and resource for those facing adversity.

Alyce is grateful for her role as a CHW, giving her the opportunity to continue her mission to help people. Her goal is to give back to communities such as West Garfield Park, where she grew up.
