Empower Your Voice: A Youth Mental Health Survey

“Empower Your Voice” is a study that examines the relationship between mental health and various factors, including trauma, community engagement, social media use, and other well-being indicators among female-identified youth in Chicago. The research investigates whether these relationships vary across demographic characteristics and neighborhoods. The study employs a large quota-based, non-probability survey of female-identified youth aged 12 to 18 across Chicago’s six Health Equity Zones. To enrich the survey findings, innovative qualitative research methods are utilized, including youth-led data walks and neighborhood-level focus groups. The results of this study aim to inform policy decisions, resource development, and future research to better support female-identified youth.
